Hi all,
This time the task was to look at online image generators, which I did. There are a great many available. Some didn't seem to work, but then it may be my computer rather than the image generator. At any rate, there are too many to look at them all for an exercise like this, but of the ones that I have seen, the one I liked the best (and found most useful) is a calendar generator that I found at http://www.freephotocalendar.net/free-printable-photo-calendar.php. It is easy to use, and I was able to produce a page for January 2008. You can click on the image and see it in a larger size. For the picture on the calendar page, I selected the image of a patent for a space capsule, patent number US3,270,908A1. For those of you who can't figure out what this means, just look at United States patent number 3,270,908, and don't worry about the kind code A1.
I think that this is really cool, and opens up lots of nice possiblities for librarians to use in promoting their special collections.
